Beyond Graduation: Seven Nebraska Youth Building What’s Next
September 9, 2025

Seven Nebraska high school seniors are stepping into the next chapter of their lives with big goals and even bigger hearts. From classrooms to clinics, farms to communities, they’re ready to bring their skills, energy, and ideas to the places they call home.
- Amy Albro – Bayard, NE
Amy is headed to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln to study Nursing. She wants to bring hope and comfort to kids as a pediatric nurse. Her small-town roots have taught her the value of community, and she’s excited to carry that spirit into her career. - Analisia Esparza – Bridgeport, NE
Caring for others comes naturally to Analisia, which makes her dream of becoming a nurse at the University of Nebraska–Kearney a perfect fit. Whether tutoring younger students or helping out at a local nursing home, she brings kindness and empathy to every setting. - Ayvrie Waldron – Alliance, NE
Ayvrie has a passion for people and possibilities. She’s set to attend Hastings College to study Psychology and Business—a combination that reflects her curiosity about the human mind and her drive to make things happen. - Gavin Bell – Hemingford, NE
Gavin is a hands-on leader who isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves. At the University of Nebraska–Lincoln, he’ll pursue Animal Science, blending his love for agriculture with a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills. - Gracie Wilkins – Hemingford, NE
Gracie is headed to the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture to dive into Livestock Management. Growing up on a ranch shaped her sense of responsibility and dedication, and she’s ready to turn that experience into a career. - Kyra Jespersen – Hemingford, NE
Kyra is determined and fearless when it comes to chasing her goals. She’ll study Agronomy and Welding at the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture—a unique combination that reflects her creativity and her commitment to rural Nebraska. - Taylee Thompson – Alliance, NE
Taylee has a gift for connecting with kids and spreading kindness. At Chadron State College, she’ll study Early Childhood Education. She dreams of building a classroom that’s not only a place of learning but also a safe and welcoming space for every child.
These seven students are proof that Nebraska’s future is in good hands. Each of them brings unique talents, big goals, and a deep commitment to their communities. As they head into this next chapter, we celebrate their achievements and can’t wait to see the difference they’ll make across our state and beyond.
