2021 Scholarships Now Open

February 12, 2021

We are honored to announce the 2021 Hempel Family Scholarship fund, which memorializes the late Edward M. and Eda S. Hempel and encourages students to continue their educational journey. Applications are due by March 15, 2021.

The Hempel scholarship will be awarded to students attending Alliance High School or Hemingford High School and who plan to remain in the area after their Nebraska-based higher education. Preference is given to young people who have overcome an obstacle and gained resilience, as well as to youth who have completed their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) with an Expected Family Contribution (EFC) between $7,000 to $12,000.

“We are blessed to award this generous gift honoring long-time board member, Mr. Hempel. He and his family supported the youth at Nebraska Boys’ Ranch through service and contributions intended to impact the lives of the youth placed at the Ranch”, shared Snow-Redfern Foundation’s Vice President and Grant/Scholarship Committee Chairperson, Jared Mracek.

2020 Scholarship Awards were given to three inspiring young women from Alliance, NE: Taylor Manion, Khloe Felker, and Madison Adam, who attended colleges across Nebraska in the fall and plan to return to Alliance to use their education in their community.
